Which rules applies to multiplying and dividing positive and negative numbers?
If the signs are different, the answer is negative.
If the signs are the same, the answer is positive.
When multiplying or dividing, the sign of the larger number determines the sign of the answer.
The absolute value is not relevant when multiplying or dividing numbers with different signs.

Uitleg

The signs determine the sign of the result. If signs are different, then negative, and if the signs are the same, the result is positive.
